FAQ

Having your vehicle breakdown is stressful.

Filing a claim shouldn’t have to be.

When do I file a claim?

In the event of a covered mechanical breakdown, you must contact the Greenshield Warranty Inc.’s Claims Department immediately at 1 (833) 786-0909 during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST), for the name, location and telephone number of the nearest authorized repair facility. Note that you must be prepared to authorize and pay for diagnosis.

What do I need to have to file a claim?

Please have some, or all the following information when communicating with our claims department: warranty holders name, warranty number, the last 6 digits of the VIN and a description of the nature of the problem with the vehicle.

We reserve the right to refuse, or reject, any repair estimate judged unreasonable in relation to other alternatives. We reserve the right to examine the vehicle and the right to ownership of covered replacement parts off of your vehicle. In the event of a dispute over the diagnosis, coverage, and our liability, it is agreed that we will solicit the opinion of an independent expert, chosen by you and us and their opinion will be binding on both parties.

If I sell the vehicle, is the warranty transferable?

Yes. In the event that you sell the covered vehicle, this contract may be transferred to the new owner. A transfer can only be done once during the life of the contract and must be applied for within 15 days of the vehicle change in ownership. A written request from the original owner must be received including the following: 1) Name and address of new owner. 2) Date and odometer reading at the time of sale. 3) Maintenance records to determine that the warranty is in good standing and 4) Payment of the transfer fee of $100 plus tax made payable to Greenshield Warranty Inc.
